Review:

I must have stopped using the scooter too soon last year because the battery even after a winter's worth on a battery tender is unable to turn over the 250cc scooter. On a search for a battery charger I went.

After stumbling on this one on Amazon i read the reviews and it was popular and well received. I am currently doing the first charge with it right now. So I will add more to the review shortly. This part of the review will be on setup.

The manual was easy to read not like some of those that were translated from another language by a non-english speaking person. I read all the warnings and checked the type of battery I had. Turned out mine was a 10amp battery. I set up the battery to the charger in the manual and plugged it in.

Fourteen percent charged.. ouch. The display readout is nice. It is digital unlike some of the other models which just have lights at five interval charges. There is also a mode to test the voltage. There are three modes to charge at and each one should be used for the proper battery. There is a 2amp, 6amp, and 10amp charge setting. If you have a 10amp battery you should divide by 10 and use that setting for 10-12 hours. However there isn't a 1amp setting so I used 2 for 6 hours.

The nice thing about this charger is that there is a microprocessor in it that will not let you hook up the battery the wrong way, overcharge it or charge a damaged battery. The manual is clear about all of these conditions and how the status lights will behave. There is a light for Charged, Charging and Connected.

This is my first time using a charger so I am a bit weary of how it will work but we will see. I am staying up as late as possible to check it every so often. Once I trust it I can leave it overnight no worries. I will report back after this battery is charged.

Why am I staying up so late for it to charge you ask? Its is supposed to reach 70 degrees tomorrow and sunny after a long and dreary winter and that is no April fool's joke.

I think you will have good luck with this product too if you are looking for a battery charger. It was priced right at around $55 when I purchased it on sale. Click here for the charger on Amazon.
